In April of this year we had the fantastic honour of photographing this brilliant wedding At Cain Manor. This fabulous barn style wedding venue is found on the Surrey and Hampshire border. It is set in beautifully landscaped gardens which are great for those little intimate wedding portrait shots. This 16th century Elizabethan house makes a glorious back drop for group and family photos with the happy couple.

The venue's interior with the high vaulted ceilings and rustic wooden beams are a joy to photograph. Able to accommodate up to 123 guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, this makes for a romantic and intimate wedding destination. A real gem in the surrey hills area.

The De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms are based in the centre of London and it's no wonder that it was the perfect place for this Bride and Groom to say I do. De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms is a stunning venue with iconic decor, it's easily accessible on public transport and is fully licensed for civil ceremonies. Their dedicated catering team pulled out all the stops on the day and the service was impeccable.

Sitting just outside Caterham on the hill is the Surrey National Golf Club. Which just happens to be one of our favourite wedding venues. This is even more fortunate for us as it is literally on our doorstep. The Surrey National Golf club boasts all the usual golf club features such as lush golfing greens and spacious interiors. However here we also have a fantastic long balcony facing the golf course which is just great for taking photos of the entire wedding party. With the fountain in the foreground it can make for brilliant wedding portrait photos. This amazing venue even has bars on both its levels giving ample room to entertain your wedding guests. Here at Oaks Farm in South Croydon Surrey we have the fabulous wedding of Olga and Kevin. Despite the near freezing temperatures, everyone can be seen to be having a great time joining in the happy couple celebration, Making fun of the weather even makes for imaginative photos.

Olga has a fine eye for the little details that can be seen dotted around this wonderful rustic venue. The simple but elegant table settings as well as the picture board set this wedding apart from the rest. This was a truly magical and romantic occasion where the personas of the bride and groom shone through. Much to the obvious joy of their guests also. It is such a privilege to photograph our lovely amazing couple's wedding at an Exclusive South London Wedding Venue Morden Hall which is located just on the outskirts of busy Morden. The magnificent Mansion house of Morden Hall is set in the lovely grounds which back onto the beautiful river Wandle, this is a gem of a wedding venue. A number of licensed rooms within this lavish building with stunning interiors, can cater for small and intimate occasions or the larger extravagant affairs for up to 150 guests.

The grounds include small secluded gardens that are perfect for secretive wedding portraits. It also has a fine wrought Iron bridge making a fabulous backdrop just in front of the park. Coltsford Mill in Oxted has hosted a vast number of weddings, one of the most visually stunning though was that of James and Kerry. Making the most of the British summer this couple carefully considered every aspect of their big day but the main style aspect we love is the Wedding Dress.

With a feminine sweetheart neckline, flowing fishtail skirt and lace overlay this dream Bridal Gown is the epitome of Wedding Goals. The fitted bodice shows off the Bride’s amazing figure and the flare of the skirt creates a beautiful silhouette.

This train is just perfect, especially for this striking Photograph, the buttons down the back and scalloped edge of the lace are details that just finish the dress wonderfully.

RHS Wisley gardens famous for its beautiful flower displays and its butterfly house, also opens its doors to be a stunning wedding venue in Surrey. Able to provide numerous unique hideaway backdrops that make for fantastic wedding photography that you won’t get anywhere else. Surrey wedding photographer Caterham photography had the great pleasure of photographing Amy and Kerry's wedding here. We were able to enjoy the fantastic lighting within the great glasshouse with the capacity to seat up to 200 guests. All areas are easily accessible making it a great joy for wedding photography and wedding videography.
This tremendous space made it great for taking all the group shots without having to worry about the heavens opening up and spoiling the day. Everybody loves Disney whether it is the classic cartoons or the more modern animations. So it can be a great way to put your own mark on your big day. As our fabulous couple did here. Not only did they have a Mickey and Minnie on their wedding cake but used their favourite film titles to name their tables for the reception. It was a great way for their guests to find where they were seated. It also gave them more to discuss as they went to sit down. It can also help to give ideas for table decoration so much easier than just colours and traditional numbers. If there are children amongst the guests, as is so much the case at weddings, they can have great fun pretending to be the characters of their place name. Although it does not mean that the adults cannot do the same.

Farleigh Golf Course was the perfect venue for this couples Wedding day. Our Photographer that covered this wedding really is the best photographer in surrey and managed to capture some breathtaking memories for the happy couple. It really was a amazing wedding- despite the rainy weather- the whole day turned out beautiful. Farleigh Golf Course is a beautiful venue just outside of Croydon but with all the beautiful and woodland that comes with a Golf Course. The bride was gushing as she got ready for her big day and could barely contain her excitement. The weather held up for the journey to the venue and allowed our Surrey Wedding Photographer to capture some beautiful shots of the bride arriving. The reception was an emotional affair and had the mother of the bride and the groom in tears. The reception then followed with a amazing venue to match the exciting and fun time that all the guests were having. This wedding truly was an amazing event.

Nutfield Priory was the perfect setting for this couples traditional wedding venue. Their wedding truly reflected the families background and incorporated the Russian heritage which was very important to the bride and groom. It truly was an emotional day for the bride- who looked incredible in her dress. Any nerves which the bride had were soon gone after the breath-taking ceremony leaving her buzzing with excitement for the reception which was to follow. The reception venue was perfect and gave the couple a great blend between a traditional wedding whilst still allowing the couple to incorporated elements of themselves throughout. This Wedding had amazing attention to detail- with beautiful flowers and table decor- which gave the wedding a massively personal touch and created a much more grand event. The happy couple had an amazing day and were able to share it with their family. The beautifully made wedding video allows the couple to have documentary of their special day to look back on in years to come.

The Cain Manor was the beautiful setting for this couples fairytale wedding. The stunning bride Victoria looked wonderful in her dress which had traditional elements throughout whilst still allowing for the couples personal touch. The one thing which made such a memorable day was for the newly married couple to share their special day with their daughter who made an incredibly cute flower girl our little princess. The ceremony venue Cain Manor was also amazing and had a sense of natural beauty woven throughout with the beautiful flowers and wooden beams. Although the handsome groom Will seemed nervous at first, once he saw his wife to be the nerves seemed to melt away and were replaced by excitement. The reception wedding theme again meet the couples want for a traditional wedding with the natural beauty of the room shining through tying the perfect wedding together. The reception was the most exciting and relaxing for the bride and groom creating a memoriable day for the happy couple. The happy couple truly were happy and seemed to enjoy spending their special day with their loved ones.

Hartsfield Manor is a beautiful Victorian House located in the Surrey countryside giving is the most perfect location for this couples special day. The Wedding itself was a beautiful event which had many elements of the bride and grooms personality woven throughout. On the morning of the wedding the bride was practically bursting with excitement as she began to prepare for her big day. The wedding ceremony was in a beautifully traditional church which gave the couple the classic ceremony that they had always desired. Once back at Hartsfield it was time for the reception, which undoubtedly was the most perfect event the newly weds could have asked for. The bride was practically glowing with happiness- not to mention how stunning she looked in her dress- whilst she was captured with her new husband and beautiful bridesmaids. The groom and his best men also seemed to be excited and were captured having huge amounts of fun throughout the reception. The excitement of the reception seemed to be mimicked in the Manor and it's grounds as they both seemed to get more beautiful throughout the evening.

The ceremony itself was a very traditional church affair which suited the couple perfectly. This wedding definitely felt classic and elegant, with the old fashioned cars and bus, creating a memorable day for the bride and groom. The wedding venue itself only emphasised this, such a historical and beautiful castle created the perfect backdrop for such an magnificent wedding day, the only thing which made this day more incredible was that the bride and groom shared it with their friends and family. Their bridesmaids looked stunning and their flower girl adorable and made the happy couple's day unimaginably flawless. The reception was very intimate and personal to the bride and groom -with the beautiful table decorations and fairy lights- this wedding couldn't have been any more perfect. It was so beautifully personal to the couple as they had a live band allowing them to put their own personally touch to make their wedding even more special. It really was the perfect wedding day.

Nutfield Priory was the perfect setting for this magical wedding day. The Bride was bursting with excitement whilst getting made up for her big day, and had the most beautiful wedding dress with shoes to match. The wedding venue itself was indescribable and suited the couples want for a traditional and classic wedding. When the guests begun to arrive there was a sense of excitement in the air and the groom was captured with his best men looking both excited and nervous- yet incredible in his suit. To make the day even more special The bride and groom were able to share their wedding with their daughter, who looked adorable in her bridesmaids dress. The bride and her father- followed by the bridesmaids- looked ecstatic as they made their way down the aisle in the beautiful ceremony room. The ceremony itself was breath-taking and the wedding's venue only seemed to empathise this. The Happy couple truly seemed to have the perfect wedding day with all their friends and family.

Alfesco Birthday Party

It is great to get out and about to photograph a family occasion other than a wedding. Here we have a fabulous birthday celebration at the Alfesco restaurant on the beach front of Brighton very close to the pier. The festivities took over the whole structure which was light and airy with splendid views of the sea beyond. Everyone was in the party mood and our photographer had a whale of a time going round capturing the individual guests and couples all showing signs of good cheer. It was important to make sure no one was left out as this was sure to be a record of who was there for years to come.

The party had a Masquerade theme but no one was masking the amount of fun they were having. The food was excellent and well presented it must have been a shame to have to destroy the displays and eat it. The live music only added to the open and free feel to the occasion the birthday girl herself having a session with her cello which enthralled her guests no end. As the sun went down people took to the dance floor. There was even a professional couple to show them how it was to be done and encourage the guests to step in the right direction. It was a fantastic example of people just out to have fun and celebrate a birthday with flair. Caterham Photography were glad to have been a part of it and hope that the photos and memories will be enjoyed for a long time after.

A Wedding day can be a time of hustle and stress with everything to organise and put in motion. So it is important to remember that this big day is all about the bride and groom. One of the best ways this can be accomplished is to take the newly married couple off to one side for some wedding portrait photos with just the two of them. Here the romance and emotion of what has just occurred can be captured in the moment. Many hotels and even registry offices have secret gardens or nooks seemingly placed just for this purpose. Even though we have said it is good just to get the Bride and Groom away, there is nothing to stop you from doing the same with their parents and or children. All could lead to some truly magical images. In complete contrast the wedding group photo is also a must for any wedding. It can be tricky getting it so you can have a clear view of everyone there. You can spent time trying to get everyone in height order and in neat rows which can be done but hard to organise. These can be really effective and with some organisation and imagination messages or romantic symbols can be mapped out by the guests below. Another way to get this effect is to use a mono pod and time the camera shutter to go off as you hoist the camera above your head. Also to check out your venues before hand to see if they have places for good group photos and the secluded spots for the wedding portraits. Fortune favours the prepared.

Sprint is just around the corner. Here in Surrey we are very fortunate to be surrounded by fantastic countryside. If your clients are comfortable and relaxed then this will greatly improve your images. it is a lot better to take your clients out to a park or some other view point. To allow your clients the freedom to roam and move about can give your shots that comfortable edge.

However in some cases bright sunlight can be more of a problem than cloudy skies. So it is always handy to have a few different portable reflectors in your kit just in case you need to give nature a helping hand. Whatever the weather it is always the emotion of your clients that will win out. The great outdoors will grant your clients the release to freely move and express themselves that a closed environment just cannot do. This is not a win-win for all kinds of shoots, you can imagine having to run after a party of toddlers, but for engagement or young couples it can really make a difference.

Here we have the lovely wedding of Joanna and Simon. This was a fine example of a fantastic and beautiful small winter wedding. Sometimes it is a brilliant idea to give a wedding shoot a kind of theme when retouching the images. This can be done with colour effects or filters that alter the original image and can help to enhance the feelings of the day. In this way you can make the whole wedding shoot completely unique to the couple getting married. It is important to choose such themes that will compliment the surroundings. Sometimes a vintage like theme would not work with an ultra modern wedding venue.

As you can see with the photos of Joanna and Simon’s wedding we have offset the colour tone just slightly. It is not enough to give it a true vintage feel but it gives the images a warmer look that we think worked very well with the stately backdrop of this registry office. We also feel that this blends well with the black and white images so if they choose to combine the two in a photo album there will not be too stark a contrast. This effect also looks amazing in the wedding portrait photos of Simon and Joanna walking down the street. They really set off the wintery and rustic texture of the surroundings.

Using colour effects is not always to everybody’s liking so you should check with the wedding couple before you go ahead. We were so lucky to photograph the Wedding of Jenni and Scott. Located in the beautiful Weald of Kent. Many would question having their wedding so close to December and Christmas. As Christmas lights and decorations could become overpowering and diminish your own wedding pallet. However we think we can say that the tasteful garlands around the ceiling and the lit Christmas trees and bar only but helped enhance the whole feel of the proceedings. This can only increase the festive emotion as it spills out into the joy of getting married in front of your friends and family. The modern function rooms of the Weald of Kent situated within its beautiful golf course made a fantastic backdrop for our portrait and group photos alike. Along with the guests great sense of fun made it really easy to get brilliant shots even if the weather was a little grey. Later as you see them cut the cake it just demonstrates the true dangers that can be involved in using real weapons in the hands of your spouse. Surrey wedding photographer Caterham Photography had a lot of fun and really enjoyed being part of Scott and Jenni’s big day.

Surrey wedding photographer Caterham Photography recently took the photos for the fabulous wedding of Faye and Robert. This was held at the all in one venue of the Mercure Hotel in Box Hill Dorking. The beauty of photographing a hotel wedding is that everything is close to hand. It made it so much easier to concentrate on getting the shots rather than having to think where we should be next. Here Faye and Robert as with many couples spent so much time sorting out all the little things like gift tag favours and cds of the music of the day. It was great to give these details the coverage they deserved.

As you can see from their photos a lot of fun was had getting ready and again we could take our time in capturing the emotions and anticipation of the day ahead. Making sure all the little details become big details for all to see. This is also great just to show everyone just how much goes into preparing a wedding. It is not always true that the ladies take more time to get things just to their liking and right than the men. However it is very important to show just how much effort has been made. With all the preparations done there is nothing left but to get on with the show. As you can see a brilliant time was had by all. Faye and Robert made this a unique day just for them and Caterham Photography are grateful for them allowing us to be a part of it. We wish them all the best for the future.

Once again the Caterham Beer Festival was here. Held at the Soper Hall in the Caterham Valley. With a fantastic choice of ciders as well as the beer and ales there was something for everyone to try. Space was at a premium but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. A great time was had by all. Caterham photography was there to take a few photos of the locals putting away a few pints as well as the out of towners enjoying Caterham’s hospitality. It all looked as though this year beat last year’s attendance records. Well done to all involved.

Shooting Star Chase Charity - Madeline & Matilda

Portfolio headshots for Madeline and Matilda, despite their young years they have already amassed a wealth of experience in the industry. Caterham photography have had the pleasure of photographing these amazing youthful ladies on a number of occasions. Having shot them in our well equipped ground floor studio, in Caterham Surrey. They are a delight to work with and pose easily in front of the camera.

In our photography studio, we have two different setting for headshots, there are studio strobe lighting system and continues light system, before we start the photo shoot, there will be discuss about the purpose of the headshot photo shoot. If someone wishes to have business headshot for the website or brochure then the strobe flash lighting will create high key clean look, however, if someone wishes to have more personality to come through, then the black & white photos which are created by nature continues lighting will suit the best.

Madeline and their group have been support the shooting start chase charity for many year, it would be wonderful to think that we may have played a small part in the start up of Madeline and Matilda’s blooming careers. This shoot was a very special shoot. It was a pre wedding photo shoot. We love doing these. For this photo shoot we have met the couple two months before their wedding. This gives the photographers a chance to get to know the couple. The photographers learn a lot about who the couple are and what they are looking for on their wedding day. This also gives the photographers a chance to show them their style and what to expect from them.

With this shoot they went to nonsuch Park in Cheam, Surrey. This is a beautiful location with lots of areas to explore. It is perfect for pre wedding shoots as well as family photoshoots. They stayed in one of the main open areas giving them and the couple lots of space to walk around and capture natural family shots. Stopping now and then for the posed ones everyone loves. They also ventured down a path leading onto another section of the park. This was a beautiful walk with the trees leaning high aboves us but still giving us enough light to capture beautiful images.

The colour were lovely due to the time of year. We were surrounded by yellows and oranges giving the shoot a lovely warm glow and were very lucky with the weather the sun decided to come out, which is always nice for the photographers but also made the family enjoy their time more.

Pre wedding shoots are something the photographers love to do and is great for both them and the couple. They get to capture beautiful images of the couple and their family and it gives them more memories before their big day.

As with wedding photographers at Caterham Photography will ask the happy couple to come into our studio in Surrey to discuss what type of shoot they would like for their big day or any wedding photography style they wish. The usual list will come out for the formal shots, groups etc., after that is out of the way, we quite often will be asked to take the newly-weds off to one side to do some portrait shots of the bride and groom. Then one of them will say, “But we are not models. We don’t know how to pose.” Or “The venue isn’t that pretty for photos”. This is not as great a problem as they might think.

Our wedding photographers is really to let bride and groom to take a walk, to capture the chemistry between the couple. There is no more an emotional day as that of your wedding day. Taking the bride and groom away from the maddening crowd allows them to relax (at least a little) and we hope for their love and magic to shine through. If you can get the “look of love” between the happy couple almost any setting no matter how simple can become dramatic. As for the posing it is amazing how just a few minor directions can give the right feel to a decent portrait photo. All the elements will already be there. Hair, makeup and of cause the dress will be perfect. It will just be down to us to place them in order to show them at their best. You don’t have to “vogue” in order to get a model like shot. A meaningful exchange of glances can make for a powerful photograph. A simple embrace or the touching of hands can convey all the emotion of this eventful occasion.

Just remember taking photos is not meant to be a task. It is all supposed to be fun and if you are having fun and your subjects are having fun it will show throughout your shots.

Surrey Wedding Photographer Caterham Photography had the great joy in participating in a traditional Mansion Wedding at Marden Park Woldingham School in Surrey. The intricate lace dress of the Bride blends beautifully amongst these magnificent grounds and interiors. The majestic front entrance and stairway was superb for the group shots. It gave photographers an added air of grandeur and elegance of life on a country estate that these families just fitted into so well.

The gardens and grounds lent themselves to so many different backdrops everywhere you turned was a photographic opportunity. The interiors were no less fantastic. The ornate ceilings in every room along with the wood panelling showed off the splendour of a time gone by. When the guests were ready to dance the night away they were able to do so upon the great wooden floors of the main hall. In all, a truly fabulous day.

The Star Gun Club played host to the most beautiful marquee wedding I have ever seen. This unconventional wedding had character and unique qualities to it, whilst still allowing the couple to have their dream church wedding. This wedding had a medieval fairytale feel, and was made perfect through the amazing weather that the couple were blessed with. The bride looked incredible in her wedding dress and had fairy like bridesmaids to match, in stunning green dresses, the natural fairytale theme with flower crowds in her hair. This beautiful marquee was the perfect setting for this reception which subverted the expectations on normal marquee weddings by having beautiful wooden flooring and already decorated for the couples big day. This marquee gave the couple the freedom to do something different for themselves which would allow them to put their personality into their wedding give their guests a day which they would remember.

As an event photographer I was privileged to photograph one such event. Deep in the Devonshire countryside a Husband surprised his wife with an Alice in Wonderland garden party. Complete with Mad Hatter , Alice as well as magicians and tricksters. It was a fun occasion for adult and child alike, and we were able to capture it all.

When we say the organisers thought of everything we mean everything they even included an airael display half way through the afternoon. It all went into a birthday party that will always be remembered.

Loved Fanny's farm for years such as their organic food, delicious cake and cream tea...This small wedding venue had become quite an attraction and a family favourite of ours. To photograph a wedding in Fanny's farm, like a dream comes true, and very fortunately before its recent closure, I was able to photograph a wedding there.

We all really enjoyed and had managed to get beautiful shots there. Fanny’s Farm Shop had an almost lost world feel to it. With a distinctive charm all of it’s own. This was a fun place to photograph, lots of décor and details are close to your heart. Not only with it’s landmark features like the Tree House tea room (also used for wedding ceremonies) but also the quiet gardens filled with fascinating things of last 50 years.

Thanks to our new wedded couple Mary and Steve to let me being part of their big day at this unforgettable place.

Surrey wedding photographer from Caterham Photography were invited to take wedding photographs at the Brooklands Hotel. Situated not far from the famous museum and right along side the race track. The Hotel is a relatively modern building all glass and steel. So we decided to give our photos a more classical look to them.

It is surprising what a different filter and some manipulation can do to the feel of an entire photo shoot. At the end of the day this also turned out to be in keeping with the emotion of the proceedings. The guests were not able to contain themselves either. They were very outgoing and willing to pose. So we were able to get some great fun group shots to boot.

The Caterham Rotary Half Marathon & 10K

The photographers of Caterham Photography spent an inspiring morning at Redhill aerodrome. This sport charity event was the Caterham Rotary Half Marathon and 10k run. It was not the weather that was inspirational (it was rather wet throughout). The inspiration came through the determination of the runners taking part and the volunteers who were marshalling and helping out behind the scenes.

Despite the awful weather the participants took on the challenge with good grace and poise. The volunteers were all of good cheer and support for those doing the running. It just went to show the endeavours or the human spirit can conquer anything no matter the conditions we may face. Well done to all involved.

The most popular Catholic Church Sacred Heart Church in Caterham is also the most beautiful and our favourite Surrey wedding venue. Daniel and Therese's wedding is truly a family affair. All the boys in their suits, the ring bearers and friends all looking like miniture versions of their fathers. The bride’s maids look stunning, a fabulous accomplishment to the Bride and Groom. Just after the wedding ceremony, we spared 10 mins to drive to the amazing Caterham Viewpoint, a few relaxing bride and groom portraits added to their special day.

With the glorious back drop of this popular and picturesque church can not help but create the images we are after. The group shots outside the church go to show the fun and emotion shared by everyone. Then it’s just next door for the reception where the Ice Cream Van makes a fantastic addition for cold and hot foods alike.

We recently had a wedding shoot in St. Mary's Church in Horsham which just went to show how important it is to be on the side of the Vicar or whoever is presiding over the marriage ceremony.

Just remember that this is a religious ceremony and that when most vicars may tolerate photographers a great many would prefer them (us) not to be there. Some priests will tell you right from the start what they find acceptable or not and this can be very restricting especially if you are being paid to record all of the big day. So it may be a good idea for you to go and have a chat with the vicar before you start if you have time. Sometimes just doing this as well as making yourself known can help relieve any tensions later on. At the end of the day you are both there to do a job and you both want the best for the couple, so a little professional courtesy on either side goes a long way. Also in your meetings with the couple before the day make them aware especially if it is a church wedding that there may be restrictions on where you can photograph and how you can photograph. In most cases the couple will be on good speaking terms with the vicar and will check any restrictions for you.

It was such beautiful and important day for bride and groom, we just wish that we were allowed to record more moments through the wedding ceremony...

Quite often the children present can bring forward the true excitement of the big day. Even a bored look at the right moment can bring a smile to the onlooker. Most people love to see cute young people all dressed up in posh clothes and this is one of those times. Children often do the most unexpected things and catching them of guard can be rewarding. If there are any doubts as to how well the proceedings are going, seeing the reaction in the children around will be a good indication. Also in the years to come when they look back at these photos these children who by then maybe adults can turn around and say, “I was there”. A Romantic Wedding on 14th of Feb Valentine's Day. Sometimes it seems hard with all the organising and worry over the details. But here with the marriage of Dennis and Marco I think we actually found one.

The proceedings were so moving that not only were the mothers in tears but the Groom’s eyes were not entirely dry either. With the added moment where the bride and groom sang to each other, you could not but get caught up in the emotion of it all.

Favourite Wedding - Leatherhead Surrey

I have to say just recently my most favourite wedding has to be that of Karen and Tim. They had been together for nearly 20 years and finally made the decision to get married. This was a small intimate wedding held at Leatherhead Registry office which in itself is set in quite beautiful grounds. The happiness of the special couple shared with those closest shone throughout the proceedings.

It was a joy to be a part of an emotional day that showed that the occasion could be met with just a family and not feel the need of large numbers or larger settings.

3 Ways to Order Your Wedding Album

So Wedding Album

You have had your big day. All the stresses and strains are almost just a memory. You have got all your images from your chosen photographer who has done a fantastic job of capturing the emotion of the day and just about everyone you ever knew. Now what are you going to do with them.

There are as always mainly two choices to pick from to keep these for prosperity. The first is the traditional album. This has been the stable choice for many a generation. A large tomb of a book with clean crisp pages with an excellent image placed upon each leaf carefully protected by tissue paper. This is probably by far the best way to show off all those priced and favourite pictures of the day. But it can be a bit limited and sometimes not all the photos you wish can be included.

However with the progression of the digital image another alternative can be given. In that of a printed Photo book. Here as well as having the tried and tested one photo to one page you can chose to do almost whatever you like. Whether it is to create collages or add text over the prints or to keep it simple there are a great many of examples out there.

Some couples like to piece it all together to tell the whole story of the event in pictures. In some cases making it look like a modern graphic novel. The advantage of this being that no longer do you need a large heavy book of photos, but a sleek presentable record of the day. Some could say that this is a cheap way out. But with a large number of luxury photo books now on the market getting that personal and unique moment of the day can be as pricey as any other part or the wedding.

As it will be one of the main things that will last from this great occasion it is important to get it right. So take your time and shop around . No longer do you need to settle for the only wedding albumin the book shop...

Second Shooter for wedding Photography

At any major one off event you would want to ensure you manage to capture everything that is going on.

This can be a tall order for a lone photographer. So to have another photographer present as your “wing man” can be a real benefit.

Not only will it help with sharing out the stress and worry, but the good old “two heads are better than one” will also come into play. It is always best to have a “Lead” photographer and a second. Not that the Second’s job is any less important, but it’s good for the clients to know who to concentrate on at any given moment.

The Second’s main task is to help arrange the larger group shots especially at weddings and such, (it’s not always possible to have the guests sort themselves out), and to communicate with the organisers in general. Also another pair of eyes helps as the main photographer may get plinked to just what is in front of them. The second photographer may be able to spot better opportunities for a great photo elsewhere.

The other main role for a Second shooter is that whilst the Lead is taking the formal photos at say a wedding, the wing man is free to go round and take impromptu “emotion” shots of the other guests. These shots will help capture the magic of the occasion and can prove to be a great asset to any album.
